HPE Skills / Youth Development Programmes

Making a positive impact within the South African ICT sector.

At HPE we believe in being a force for good, striving to make a positive impact within the South African ICT sector. We know that technology can drive better solutions and we are committed to empowering the youth to build their skills and provide them with employment opportunities in the ICT sector through learnerships, internships and bursaries.

These programmes form part of HPE's commitment in promoting the legislative requirements of the BBBEE Act and align to the criteria set in the Codes of Good Practice and the ICT Sector Charter.

The HPE Skills / Youth development program support youth from diverse backgrounds through opportunities that contribute towards sustainable growth in the ICT sector. Our vision is to play an active role in the economic transformation of the ICT sector by empowering the youth through education and development opportunities to become more employable.

HPE Offers the following Youth Development Programs:

The HPE Bursary Program: This program is for students who want to pursue an IT qualification at a South African University or Technical Institute. Preferred disciplines in order to be eligible for the program are:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Marketing/ Finance/ Business Studies

The HPE Internship Program: This program is for the Unemployed youth who have completed their Grade 12, are in possession of a Tertiary Qualification and are interested in gaining workplace experience in the ICT / Sales Sector.

The HPE Learnership Program: This program is for unemployed Youth in South Africa who have completed their Grade 12 and are interested in pursuing a SETA-Accredited qualification and employment in the ICT Sector.

The HPE Disability Learnership Program: This program is for the South African youth with disabilities who have completed Grade 12 and are interested in pursuing a SETA-Accredited qualification and employment in the ICT Sector.

Here are the requirements you must meet in order to be eligible for the programme:

  • Unemployed Youth with a Completed Grade 12 Certificate
  • A South African Citizen
  • Interested in a Career in the ICT Sector
