HPE Bursary Programme

About the Bursary

HPE invites South African learners and students to apply for the 2026 HPE Bursary Programme, an opportunity designed to support your academic journey — whether you are currently in Grade 12 or already pursuing higher education. This programme aims to empower young South Africans by unlocking their potential through quality education and financial support.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • If you are currently in school (Grade 12):
  • You are currently in Grade 12 or have completed Grade 12.
  • You must have applied to a South African university and received acceptance or provisional acceptance for the qualification you intend to study in 2026.
  • You are a South African citizen.

If you are a post-matric student:

  • You have successfully completed Grade 12.
  • You have been accepted or are currently registered at a South African university or institution.
  • You are a South African citizen.
  • You are currently unemployed.

Applicants who have not received feedback from HPE by 31 January 2026 should consider their application unsuccessful.

Important Note for Grade 12 learners:

To qualify for this bursary, you must have received provisional acceptance to a university or institution for the qualification you wish to study in 2026.

This ensures that you are taking steps to begin your higher education journey after completing Grade 12.
